Hostinger vs GoDaddy: Which Is Better for Beginners?

Hosting Comparison • Price • Renewals • Beginner Fit

Hostinger and GoDaddy both sell shared hosting to first-time site owners, but they are priced and packaged differently. One leads with a very low long-term price. The other is the registrar most people already know.

In this guide we compare the plans each company publishes, what the limits mean for a real site and which type of beginner each one suits. For the wider field, see our best web hosting services guide and our Hostinger review.

Editorial note: this article contains no affiliate links. Prices and features were checked against each vendor’s official pages on October 18, 2026, and any totals shown are our own arithmetic on published prices. Hosts change prices and promotions often, so confirm current pricing at checkout.

Quick answer: Hostinger is the better fit if you want the lowest published price and room for several sites. GoDaddy is worth a look if you want one familiar company for your domain and hosting and a daily backup on every plan.

  • Hostinger: Premium $2.99 a month and Business $3.99 on a 48-month term, renewing at $10.99 and $16.99.
  • GoDaddy: Economy $5.99 and Deluxe $7.99 on a 3-year first term; the page we checked did not show renewal rates.
  • Backups: GoDaddy lists automatic daily backups on every plan; Hostinger lists weekly on Premium and daily on Business.
  • Both list a 30-day money-back guarantee.
  • Neither company changes the main rule: check the renewal price before you commit.

Price and Renewal: The Part to Check First

Hostinger’s pricing page shows renewal rates: $10.99 a month for Premium and $16.99 for Business. GoDaddy’s plan page showed the first-term price and the struck-through regular price ($11.99 on Economy, for example) but not a renewal rate, so confirm it at checkout before you rely on the discount.

Illustrative arithmetic: on the published prices, 36 months of GoDaddy Economy is $215.64 ($5.99 × 36). Hostinger Premium for 48 months is $143.52. These are calculations on listed prices, not quotes, and they exclude renewals. For how Hostinger’s renewal works, read our Hostinger pricing explained guide.

Features That Matter to a Beginner

  • Backups: GoDaddy lists automatic daily backups on every plan. On Hostinger, Premium lists weekly backups and daily starts on Business. If you cannot afford to lose a day of work, that gap matters. See our backup software guide for extra protection.
  • Number of sites: Hostinger Premium allows 3 sites and Business allows unlimited (fair-use). GoDaddy Starter and Economy allow one site each.
  • Uptime: GoDaddy publishes a 99.9% uptime guarantee. We have not measured uptime on either host, so treat all uptime figures as the company’s own claims.
  • Support: GoDaddy lists 24/7 support by chat, phone and email. Hostinger lists 24/7 support, with priority support on Business and above.
  • Control panel: GoDaddy lists cPanel on its shared plans, which many beginners already know from tutorials.

Final Verdict

For most beginners who care about cost, Hostinger’s published prices and site limits are the stronger starting point. GoDaddy is a reasonable choice for people who value one familiar vendor and daily backups on the entry plan. Whichever you pick, read the renewal price first and use the 30-day window to test.
